Huddersfield have agreed a deal to sign veteran defender David Unsworth, subject to the former Everton star completing a medical. The 34-year-old has been on trial at the Galpharm Stadium for the last two weeks following his release from Burnley and Unsworth has impressed Terriers boss Stan Ternent with his displays in the pre-season matches against Sheffield United and Arsenal
The former Everton man's medical will not take place until Monday but Unsworth could still be in contention to play in Huddersfield's opening game of the season against Stockport on Saturday.
"We have agreed a deal with David, subject to his medical that will take place on Monday," Ternent told the club's official website.
"However, he has signed a non-contract registration with us on Friday and will therefore be available for selection and in the squad for Saturday's game against Stockport County."
