The Italy international has fallen down the pecking order at the Allianz Arena and did not make the matchday squad for the weekend's draw with Koln, despite being available following injury.

Napoli, along with Milan, are reported to be interested in taking him back to his homeland once the transfer window re-opens in Janaury.

"Napoli is an important club," Toni told Italian radio station Kiss Kiss. "They have great fans.

"Club president Aurelio De Laurentiis has big ideas so we shall see what happens. It's still early days."

Toni has said he is keen to secure regular football in the run up to next summer's World Cup in South Africa and he revealed he would relish the opportunity to play alongside Fabio Quagliarella and Ezequiel Lavezzi at Napoli.

"Quagliarella and Lavezzi are two great strikers," said Toni. "Together with them I would feel great and we would make up a very good attacking trio."
