Carle set for Eagles exit

Crystal Palace will look to sell out-of-favour midfielder Nick Carle in the January transfer window.

The Australia international was a £1million signing from Bristol City last summer but has failed to start a single game this season with Shaun Derry, Neil Danns and Alassane N'Diaye all ahead of him in the pecking order.

Palace have had enquiries about taking Carle on loan but are looking for cash from a permanent transfer.

"Nick is on the market to sell permanently and we'd only look at loans at the end of January," Palace boss Neil Warnock told the South London Press.

"He knows he needs to be playing to get into Australia's World Cup squad and has got to be getting games after Christmas."

Meanwhile, winger Ryan Smith has extended his short-term contract at Selhurst Park until January.

  1. this is a mistake. i think Nick Carle is a player of superb quality and palace are fools to be letting him go its probably because he wants to play passing football not just long over the top punts to Alan Lee all the time. good luck Nicky you deserve better anyway

  2. Nick Carle is out of favour with Warnock, it has nothing to do with his form, he would have been an asset if allowed to play, but Warnock dislikes the Australian because of his links last year to possibly moving to a south Koreian club.

It will be good to see carle move to a Premiership club, he has some class
