Colombia's Carlos Betancour (Acqua & Sapone) picked up the first victory of his professional career by winning the Giro dell'Emilia in the Emilia-Romagna region of Italy.

The promising climber finished ahead of Dutchman Bauke Mollema (Rabobank) and another Colombian in the form of Team Sky's Rigoberto Uran to claim the win.

He joins some elite company in winning the race with Robert Gesink having won the race in both 2010 and 2009.

The likes of Danilo Di Luca, Frank Schleck, Ivan Basso and Jan Ullrich have all also won the race in recent history.
