Cologne moved into the top half of the Bundesliga table after coming from behind to post a 2-1 win at home to Hannover.

Substitute Wilfried Sanou grabbed a second-half winner for Cologne after Pedro Geromel had cancelled out Jan Schlaudraff's goal for the visitors.

Schlaudraff slotted Hannover in front on 15 minutes from Mikael Forssell's pass after the away side had broken swiftly from defending a corner.

But Cologne were level three minutes before half-time when Geromel pounced from close range after Youssef Mohamad's attempt had been blocked.

Hanno Balitsch headed against the post for Hannover on 56 minutes before Sanou fired home from the edge of the area for Cologne on 71 minutes.

The woodwork denied Hannover again on 74 minutes when Szabolcs Huszti's free-kick struck the crossbar before the visitors had Jiri Stajner sent off in the final minute.
