Liverpool will not be forced to sell off key players if the club make an early exit from the Champions League, co-owner Tom Hicks said.
"None of our star players will be sold, regardless of results," the American told the Sunday Mirror. "The club is doing very well due to rapidly growing commercial revenues.
"We have significant investor interest and want to make sure that we pick high-quality partners.
"We are happy with the way things are going financially but we hoped things would be better on the pitch."
The five-times European champions are in danger of being eliminated from the group stage of the Champions League despite having players such as England's Steven Gerrard and Spain's Fernando Torres.
They have also lost five of their first 11 games in the Premier League and are seventh in the standings, nine points adrift of leaders Chelsea before Sunday's games.
Liverpool have been keen to raise fresh cash to help challenge for top honours and fund the construction of a new stadium, as well as finance debt estimated at 245 million pounds.

loserpool sux...dey aint got no key players.....lol n 1 more thing dey'll alwayz walk alone.GLORY GLORY MAN UNITED
2 KPOK no matter how much I agree with you Id still much much rather see more of the younger local lads coming through. The likes of Jamie and Stevie are the backbone of the team.Imagine a team full of them
liverpool fc players are top class but the only player needed to win the premier league, champions league, carling cup ,fa cup is david villa torres gerrard and villa will match togeether and score minimum3 goals per game
All doom and gloom on the field but things are getting better off it which can only be good long term, what Rafa needs to do in January (if he's still there) is sell players who aren't needed or good enough such as Cavalieri, Dossena, Babel,Degen and Voronin (should bring in about £18mill) and sign in Van Der Vaart on a loan as he never plays for Real and Villa is available for £25mill, people keep saying our squad isn;t good enough to cop-e without Torres and Gerrard but would Arsenal Chelsea or Man Utd be as good if Febregas,Van Percie,Lampard,Drogba,Giggs and Rooney were out as long as Torres and Gerrard have been, of course not. My team come January would be Riena,Aurelio,Johnson,Carragher,Agger,Mascherano,Aquila ni,Gerrard,Benayoun,Villa and Torres with Gulacsi,Insua,Skrtel,Riera,Lucas,Van Der Vaart and either Ngog or Kuyt on the bench, we're 2-3 players away from being genuine challengers.
Good news from Liverpool over the weekend, Carlsberg are in pole position to break the 'naming rights record' for the new Anfield. £250m over 20years along with the Arab investment Christian Purslow said cound be in place by January, means Liverpool will build the stadium without worring about loans. This alongside the £80m shirt deal means Liverpool are in a much better position than first thought, let's get the win tonight and get back on track!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
How did Manure go this morning? They cant beat Liverpool or Chelsea anymore, looks like Whiskynose is getting old! Yak yak yak. :))
I forgot to mention Mascherano, Babel, Kuyt and Riera. Silly me. Without Rooney the mancs are terrible aren't they!!!!!!!!, If he get's injured they won't make the top four as they have no money.
Reina is the best keeper in the League, Aquilani is class, Johnson awesome, Yossi is a top player, oh yeah and we have Torres and Gerrard. Not too bad is it??????????????. Get them fit and we go storming up the table, end of!, Let's see what happens tonight against Birmingham?. 'Anyone know the manc score'??????????????????
Who has given him the right to decide on me? Im off to City if we dont qualify for Europe next season...and im taking my sexy Torres with me too....tonight im gonna exhibit a dive from the stands as im not playing ...do watch my lovely skills guys!
That just about sums up the mentality of the yanks!!!!! Duh! Its not about selling the BEST players, its about getting rid of the rubbish, and they are not difficult to find. Benetiz plays them most weeks. its not rocket science you muppet. But if things carry on as they are, you won't need to sell the best players because they will go of their own accord in search of CL football.
And how dare you comment about such things. You and your sidekick are the reason the club is in this state. Release the funds so we can buy MORE quality players, rather than searching the bargain basement. THIS IS YOUR FAULT. IN THE NAME OF GOD GO.
Liverpool is a two horse team... other than Gerrard and Torres, who is worth hanging on to? Benayoun? Babel? The main problem is Benitez . Get rid of the coach and sell Lucas Lieva and Liverpool will get better. And bring back Luis Garcia!!!
