Defeat leaves O'Driscoll empty handed

Doncaster boss Sean O'Driscoll felt his side could still have come away from Plymouth with something to show for their efforts despite seeing captain Martin Woods sent off in the 50th minute.

Dean Shiels cancelled out Alan Judge's opener to ensure the scoreline remained level at the break. Woods then saw red shortly after the restart for his second bookable offence, before Rory Fallon snatched all three points for Argyle in the 71st minute.

But O'Driscoll said: "Going down to 10 men is not a reason to throw in the towel or anything.

"You just have got to take it on the chin. Our game plan didn't change. What we tried to do - win the match - doesn't change, it just makes it that little more difficult.

"We came in at half-time and we thought if we could step it up a little bit we could win the game. Even with 10 men we thought we could get something from it, and we had one or two good chances.

"I think they (Plymouth) have a physical presence, so any long throw-ins or corners into the box are going to give us a problem."
