Rochdale boss Keith Hill breathed a huge sigh of relief after his side came from three goals down to rescue a replay against non-League Luton.
The Hatters were 3-0 up at half-time as Steve Basham's double and Adam Newton's clever lob put new boss Richard Money's Blue Square Premier men in command.
But League Two high-fliers Rochdale launched a stunning second-half fightback as Craig Dawson netted before Joe Thompson's late double spared their blushes.
"If I'm perfectly honest, I'm over the moon after being 3-0 down," said Hill. "At half-time I was searching and looking for answers.
"But the answers came from the players and the response I got from them in the second half was absolutely outstanding.
"I'm really happy with getting a draw out of this fixture and getting into the hat for the next round."
