Players were under-par - Megson

Sun, 08 Nov 11:54:41 2009

Bolton manager Gary Megson admitted too many of his players had an off-day as they were thumped 5-1 at Aston Villa.

Martin O`Neill`s men were on fire as they dismantled Wanderers - albeit with a slice of luck when James Milner`s penalty was saved, Steve Sidwell fired the rebound against the post before the loose ball fell to Milner again to score.

Megson said: "(John) Carew was strong and lively but every one of their players looked close to their best.

"Of our outfield players, none got close to what I would expect from them.

"If we can't sort it out with what we have already got, then we will need to change things a bit."

  1. Lets get rid of davies, gartside and megson.
and instead get a Sheik or Russian Billionaire,a joiner and a plumber.
The first can buy the club, the second can board up the goal, and the third can stop the leaks at the back?
