Spurs can break top four - Redknapp

Sun, 08 Nov 13:37:49 2009

Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp is expecting his side to push the `big four` all the way this season.

A 2-0 win for Spurs at home to Sunderland came after back-to-back league defeats, with the three points raising hopes of them maintaining their place in the top four.

Redknapp said: "Man City will be right there, Aston Villa will be right there and looking to push the top four. I think ourselves, the top four are very, very strong obviously and I think ourselves Villa and City will all be having a go.

"There's no reason you can't do it. It's not impossible to do. No-one has said you can't finish in the top four.

"You have days against Stoke when you murder them and days when you win 2-0."

  3. I would like to thank the board & chairman. Over the last 4/5 years they have invested massive amounts of money into many different types of players and managers. If it has not worked then they are gone regardless of the costs.

When you have a look around the Premiership you do not see many boards that do not cause problems or always want to be in the media. Well i suppost we have Harry for that. Most true spurs fans can see we are off the top 4 in depth and consistancy.

Thanks Board from 5 years ago when at the start of the season i knew it was all over by xmas now I am a Spurs fan who can live in hope.

  4. I still dont think Harry has the belief to be in the top four at the end.????
He should have, he has the team and back up, just a little more Steel from the
players and him. They tend to be soft when the going gets a little rough, paid to
much for a soft time. Harry get on with it or move over.

  5. 1 thing i want is harry to think about the league and take the cups as a bonuse cause with our luck will get MAN U in both cup anyway. As for coming 4th your gotta be having a bl**dy laught ain't ya. Theres allways something blocking us, maybe doggie REFS, FOOD, INJURYS, SPURS PLAYERS OUT ON THE P*SS, but other than that i think spurs will win the league anyway lol.

    COME ON U YIDS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

YIDS YIDS YIDS YIDS YIDS YIDS

  9. I don't care what anyone thinks about Spurs. We're doing very well this season. We aren't as strong as some in the EPL but their is no reason why we can't keep this run up. a lot of people slag Spurs of but in reality we are 4th!

    COYS!

  11. I'd really like to see Aston Villa, Man City, Liverpool and Spurs in the top four. But seeing that Chelsea and Arsenal look strong now, a bit wobbling Man Utd should be the team everyone should kick them out of top 4 to stand a chance now. Then wait for Chelsea and Arsenal to show their "bad days" to kick them out as well.

Not wishful thinking. Just hope so. Aston Villa, Man City, Liverpool and Spurs have had their bad days so early on in the season and should hope to learn from it and bounce back.

Poor old Harry, inarticulate as ever as he struggles to maintain Spurs as realistic contenders after a win against Sunderland, to whom all praise for their start to the season but who are enjoying a Premiership place they'll find hard to sustain over the entire season. What point does Harry think he makes when he says "No-one has said you can't finish in the top four"? No-one has said he can't reach the moon in one leap either but does that mean it's possible he could do it?
