Flynn hits back at Peters

Wales Under-21 manager Brian Flynn has hit back at Hereford director of football Gary Peters for his comments regarding goalkeeper David Cornell.

Peters was unhappy with the decision made by the footballing authorities in Wales to take Cornell away for international duty five days before their clash with Armenia next week.

Circumstances dictate Cornell will therefore not be available for Hereford's FA Cup first round tie with Yeovil on Saturday, leaving the Bulls with no recognised, fit keeper.

Flynn told the Western Mail: "We are travelling to Armenia this Friday. I'm not picking David to be selfish, I am picking him because he is a good player.

"When I was a club manager I had players who were picked for Wales and they went with my blessing. David's having a good season and that's why he is being picked for Wales. I don't pick bad players."
