On-loan Scott Brown is determined to turn his loan switch to Port Vale into a permanent deal come the January transfer window. The midfielder, 23, has spent the last two-and-a-half weeks at Vale Park after being told he was surplus to requirements at Cheltenham.
Brown has now sorted a settlement with the League One club that will see him become a free agent in January - hopefully, in his eyes, just in time to secure a long-term deal under Dean Glover with his current agreement set to expire at the end of December.
Brown told The Sentinel: "I've got the settlement sorted out with Cheltenham and now I'm looking forward to January.
"I'd like to stay here if I can because I've enjoyed it and we're playing good football.
"The camaraderie between the lads is brilliant, I've settled in really well."
