Norwich beat East Anglian rivals Ipswich 2-0 at Carrow Road to move up four places to 19th in the Championship table.

Lee Croft scored a cracker from 25 yards out after Matthew Pattison had fed him the ball in the centre of the field on 61 minutes.

Pattison made it two with eight minutes remaining, smashing in off the bar from close range after a free-kick ricocheted kindly for him.

Sammy Clingan saw a deflected first-half shot strike the bar for Norwich while Jon Walters should have opened the scoring for Ipswich 10 minutes before Croft's top-corner effort, home goalkeeper David Marshall blocking as the striker ran through on goal.

Norwich are now five points behind their local rivals, who sit 13th in the table.
