Red Bull said it was not surprised by the withdrawal of Japanese rivals Honda from the sport.
The Austrian group sponsors Formula One teams Red Bull Racing and Toro Rosso.
"Honda's withdrawal is not surprising," said Red Bull, owned by Austrian billionaire Dietrich Mateschitz. "Numerous other race teams are having similar thoughts.
"The main issue now is whether the reductions in costs all of us must make will come quickly enough to guarantee a sufficient number of teams carrying on."
England-based Red Bull team use Renault engines while the Italy-based Toro Rosso team use Ferrari engines.
"We will leave the teams decide whether to build them themselves or to have an independent constructor do it," Red Bull said.
Either way, Honda's withdrawal "will have no impact on the choice of Toro Rosso's pilots", it added.
Last season, Toro Rosso finished sixth in the constructors standings on 39 points with Red Bull a place behind, 10 points adrift.
German Sebastian Vettel was the highest ranked driver for either team, the Toro Rosso pilot finished eighth in the drivers' standings with Red Bull's Mark Webber in 11th.
Honda announced its withdrawal from Formula One, raising fresh fears over the future of the multi-million pound sport struggling to keep afloat in the current economic downturn.

Who put the d so close to the s on my laptop.??
Marion. Own up.
How can anyone take any notice of a bloke called Marion.? It wouldn't be so bad if he couls actually spell.!! I presume he's a Ferrari fan. Of course that team would never stoop to allowing their team mates to overtake in order to grab another point. Or push others off the track( Schumacher) numerous times.
Just accept that the best team and most consistent driver won.!!!
Look forward not back. That way you won't trip over.
Charles
P.S Don't use long words if you can't spell them.
Charles (seriously)
Best of Luck to all the hard workers at the Honda F1 Team. Sorry to see you go but, as far as Honda are concerned, it's probably for the best. Thanks for all you've done, even though it didn't quite work out. I'm sure most of you'll find new jobs somewhere in the racing business.
Golf in the Kingdom: I think you are as stupid as some of the other muppets on this site. Were you born with this bias or is it drip fed into you over a period of time. p.r.a.t.
golf in the kingdom: No, no, no. He is not funny, he is sick in the head.
It would be fun if:
a) He could poke fun at all teams and drivers, including ferrari, and
b) He didn't keep repeating the same post all over the site, one post keeps
going for weeks if not months.
This is not funny, comedy is inventive JbolumBum isn't.
From your comments I suspect you are the brain dead JGollum.

golf in the kingdom - you're waffleing on about stuff I never even mentioned. I'm sorry but Marion is about as funny as a Tory party political broadcast. Let's just have decent F1 debate eh and not cynical, mindless, speculative trash talk.

what an arrogant school teacher you are
marnion from peru - marion is fun
sometimes too long, ok, but fun
and I agree with him on one point, the spy story was real, the 100 millions fine was paid (by Mercedes, so they have to had it to their official costs).
But it's the past
the future: I can't see the interest of a sport where the best performer are blocked and handicapped in their efforts to achieve the best results
on the other hand, unless Renault comes back to its 2005 and 2006 level, a championship with two teams can be boring and discourage even more the small teams
Le Mans 24 hours is currently won by diesel engines, why not try an electrical engine in F1 by 2014? five year of work to show the OPEC country that we don't need them!!!
Sorry but some of the posts on here? Are they wriiten by five year olds? Our friend from Peru. Boy have you got issues. I'm pretty new in posting on these message boards but come on fellas, let's have some interesting debates and views instead of the racist and moronic bile that seems to regularly turn up on these boards!

hello my little f1 bum chums it marion here from peru.
mr hamiltons son say he stay with mclaren men for life. that nice for him but what do mclaren men say? you see mclaren is now german owned. the parent company is the mercedes benz which is the german. the engine is the german engine. everything about the team is the german. mr hamiltons son now the swiss gentleman he eat much cheese and sings in the morning at mountains. mr hamiltons father is also now the swiss man. in fact there nothing british about this team at all. even the man who tidy up the garage after the race has moved to switzerland with his mother. switzerland is owned by the german. my friends the whole team is GERMAN - and guess what - so is mr glock. now you see why the time stand still for mr glock on the last lap. like he in the time warp. not even the people abducted by the alien lose the amount of time he lost on that last lap. IT IS A DISGRACE!!!
F1 IS ABOUT TEAMS AND ENGINE BUILDERS..ITS WRONG TO START CHANGING REGULATIONS AND RULES JUST BECAUSE..SO HONDA PULLING OUT YES IS SAD , BUT THEN AGAIN IF THEY CANNOT MAKE THEIR CHASSIS AND ENGINE A BETTER COMBINATION, THEN BYE BYE HONDA, AND LETS GET SOMEONE NEW AND EXICTED ABOUT WHAT F1 IS.AND WHY NOT HAVE 2 FORMULAS IN ONE?
What a shame, nobody has commented with any intelligence on this . Its just the same old nonsense from small minded individuals who either know nothing of F1 or just come on here to play like silly children.
This is a crucial time for the sport that so many of us actually enjoy and i for one, hope that teams get it together and we can see some proper racing again. it may be gloom at the moment, but it might just be the shakeup that the sport needs.
