Mathias dreams of Wembley outing

Wed 09 Jan, 01:30 PM

MK Dons assistant boss Ray Mathias is eyeing a dream day at Wembley after disposing of Gillingham on penalties in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy.Mark Stimson's men thought they had won when Craig Stone netted with eight minutes to go but Dons striker Jemal Johnson broke the Gills' hearts, equalising moments later.

Gills teenager Luis Cumbers saw his penalty crash against the post to set up Drissa Diallo to net the winner.

The League Two frontrunners now face League One leaders Swansea and Mathias admitted the Dons were worth their win at Priestfield.

He said: "We mentioned going to Wembley before the game and that is the prize for us now and we can end up with it.

"With it still being new not many people have played there and it would be great to go but we have two hard games to get there against Swansea so we will have to look at that first."
