Oldham boss John Sheridan has praised the remarkable turnaround in the fortunes of midfield goal-hero Gary McDonald.The former Kilmarnock man found himself out in the cold earlier this season but he recently reclaimed his place in the side.

And his spectacular goal at Everton last weekend gave the Latics a famous 1-0 FA Cup third-round victory at Goodison Park.

"I like Gary as a player, he's got a great attitude," said Sheridan.

"He was out of the team earlier in the season, but he's been great for me since he came back in."
