Money proud of Saddlers display

Wed 09 Jan, 12:30 PM

Walsall boss Richard Money hailed his side after they overcame some torrential weather conditions to beat Yeovil and extend their unbeaten run.Scott Dann and Alex Nicholls scored the goals at Huish Park on Tuesday as the Saddlers won 2-0 to climb up to fifth in League One and Money was understandably thrilled.

He said: "We did everything you could expect to win a football match in atrocious conditions. In the first half we defended superbly against the wind and the rain. It was so bad that at one time one clearance from my goalkeeper Clayton Ince blew back past him for a corner.

"In the second half the weather improved and we thought for a time our luck was out but it enabled us to get the ball down and play a bit and there were some excellent performances.

"I don't usually pick out people but I thought Troy Deeney had an excellent game in midfield and the defence was superb throughout."
