Gary Neville will make his first competitive appearance for three months when he plays for Manchester United reserves at Everton on Wednesday.The England defender is edging closer to a first-team recall after struggling with an ankle injury since last March.

Danny Simpson is also included in the squad at Widnes along with Ritchie Jones, Craig Cathcart and Michael Lea, who have returned to the club after being sent out on loan.
