1979: Born May 4, in Tonga to New Zealand parents.

1990: Introduced to rugby league at age of 11, after growing up in Auckland playing rugby union.

1997: Joins NRL side Canberra Raiders.

1998: Makes Test debut for New Zealand.

2000: Excels in rugby league World Cup in the UK, scoring nine tries for the Kiwis.

2002: Joins Super League side Bradford Bulls and scores 13 tries in injury-disrupted season.

2004: Scores a remarkable 37 tries in 26 games, including five hat-tricks.

2005: Turns down lucrative offer to switch codes with Gloucester.

2007: Joins Gloucester after scoring 149 tries in 152 games for the Bulls; Scores five tries against Leeds on Gloucester debut.

2008: January 9 - Called up by England after just nine matches in rugby union.
