Championship - Gow fails Wolves medical

Eurosport - Fri, 09 Jan 13:25:00 2009

Rangers playmaker Alan Gow's propsed move to Wolverhampton Wanderers has fallen through after the Scotland B international failed a medical.

FOOTBALL Rangers Blackpool Alan Gow - 0

The 26-year-old had agreed a move to Molineux after the Ibrox side accepted a fee reportedly in the region of £250,000.

It is the second blow in 24 hours to Rangers' bid to trim their squad in the January transfer window following Birmingham's decision to pull out of a £3million-plus deal for Kris Boyd.

Wolves manager Mick McCarthy said: "Alan has gone back to Rangers.

"We'd agreed everything with him but something has shown up in the medical which we are not completely happy about.

"It's nothing serious, it's something bio-mechanical but that's something for Alan and Rangers to sort out, not us.

"He's a good player who would have added to the squad but that's not going to happen. In a way this is a credit to our medical team and how thorough they are.

"There's still plenty of time left in January and hopefully we will strengthen.

"We have a squad of players who have been doing well but of course we will continue to try and bolster the squad."

  14. Well done Mick and the medical team I would rather not sign him if he is not right then say oooo im sure he will be fine.

Our squad is close and good if we get a few in great if not no big deal to most sensible wolves fans.

Birmingham are making some good and strange signings sinclair good bowyer mmmm i would not want him in my team even if he was free too much baggage even though he can be ok as a player

up the wolves keep the faith support Mick dont worry about brum signings.
