Former World Cup winner Denilson has returned to his homeland and joined Brazilian giants Palmeiras until the end of this year.The club revealed the 30-year-old has been given a "pay-as-you-play" contract.

Director of football Genaro Marino said: "He has signed with us until the end of the season and will be officially presented next week.

"He accepted to have in his contract based on productivity: the more he plays, the bigger his salary will be."

Denis de Oliveira Araujo, Denilson's brother and manager, confirmed the player is free to leave Palmeiras if he receives an offer from a European side.
