Bundesliga - Bayern confirm Shaqiri signing
Bayern Munich have signed Switzerland forward Xherdan Shaqiri from FC Basel on a four-year contract commencing this summer to boost their frontline, the club said on Thursday.
"We are delighted to have signed one of Europe's most sought-after talents with Xherdan Shaqiri," said sports director Christian Nerlinger in a statement.
The pint-sized 20-year-old, who will officially join from July 1, signed a deal until 2016.
"Xherdan will strengthen our team from next season with his football intelligence and dribbling", said Bayern coach Jupp Heynckes.
"I have been watching him for some time and I am convinced he can become an important player for the club."
Bayern take on Shairi's Basel in their Champions League round of 16 later this month.

Bet he knocks Bayern out of the Champions League. You just KNOW it's going to happen...!
#2 ? Sell Pranjic but Tymo is quality! And olic is a good squad player so long as he's happy. We should cash in on Robben though as I reckon we should have Shaqiri as our starting RM, and let's face it, Robben won't be happy on the bench!
So Jealous, Congrats to Bayern on signing a great player!
@#$%...congrats to bayern. he is one talented youngster. he just made me become a bayern fan
great signing. now pick up another striker defensive mid and defender. let pranjic timo and olic go.
This guy will make Bayern stronger than Dortmund again. Unless Dortmund can keep Goetze and Reus over the next five years!
