Alexander keen to strengthen Macc

Sun 09 Mar, 06:00 PM

Macclesfield boss Keith Alexander was disappointed with his lack of firepower after Glenn Poole snatched a late goal for Brentford to win 1-0.Alexander is still searching for his first win as Silkmen manager since replacing Ian Brightwell.

"It's definitely an area where we need to strengthen but it's hard getting goal scorers to come when you're down the bottom," Alexander explained.

"We played five across the back and looked like we had done enough, but a little loss of concentration has cost us dear.

"I'm very disappointed that we didn't create very much up front and that is down to the players we had up there - there will be changes."

Breathtaking stops from Macclesfield goalkeeper Jon Brain almost held the Bees out until the end.
