Shrewsbury caretaker manager John McMahon was annoyed that a three-pronged attack could not sufficiently break down Rotherham as they drew 1-1.McMahon took over from Gary Peters on Monday and employed a 4-3-3 formation with Guy Madjo, Dave Hibbert and Constable in attack, but the trio failed to click.
Pablo Mills put the Millers ahead, but James Constable levelled six minutes later to register only the Shrews' fourth point in eight games.
"We need to work on that formation if we are going to use it again," said McMahon.
"We would have liked three points although it's stopped the rot.
With just two wins in 20 outings between them prior to kick-off, the stalemate could have been seen to be on the cards.
