Sun 09 Mar, 05:15 PM

Darren Ferguson felt his lethal front pairing were the difference as Peterborough went back to the top of the table with a 3-2 win at Dagenham.Strikers Craig Mackail-Smith and Aaron Mclean scored either side of a George Boyd goal in the second half against a battling Daggers, who ended Posh's run of five games without conceding a goal.

"We are delighted to be back on top of the league, it was important after MK Dons won on Friday," said Ferguson.

"We had to play the elements a little bit more and our front two in the second half were magnificent.

"During the week we worked hard with our wide players, but after 25 minutes you could see it was going to be an awful pitch. We just felt that if we could start turning them we could get some joy and Aaron and Craig caused them all sorts of problems."
