Gannon glee at 'awesome' County

Sun 09 Mar, 06:17 PM

Stockport boss Jim Gannon saluted what he proclaimed was the best performance of the season from his side after the 2-1 home win over Bradford.Peter Thorne's penalty had put the Bantams in front at Edgeley Park but the Hatters hit back and took the points thanks to goals from Anthony Pilkington and Michael Rose.

"That probably was the best from us this season," said Gannon. "We played some excellent football, we were resilient throughout, and we showed a tremendous never-say-die attitude.

"I was delighted we finally got our second goal, it was well deserved. We created some great chances in either half, but as the game went on I was always convinced that the pressure was finally going to tell.

"At times we seemed unstoppable. The lads have shown on a few occasions that we can turn things around, and we are always capable of scoring. All the lads were awesome."
