Chelsea manager Avram Grant has urged the Blues to look forward after Saturday's 1-0 FA Cup humbling by Barnsley at Oakwell. It was the first time in 13 years Chelsea had lost to lower league opposition in the FA Cup, and Grant wore even more of a hang-dog look than usual in his post-match summation after Kayode Odejayi's second-half winner.
"These things happen," assessed Grant.
"Manchester United lost at home to Portsmouth, and we played away against a team that had beaten Liverpool away.
"This is an important competition. We had a chance to do something in this competition and we didn't do it.
"I am very, very disappointed, very sad about this, but now we need to look forward to the League and Champions League."
Grant then skimmed over the prospect as to whether Abramovich would conduct another post-mortem.
"Since losing the Carling Cup we have played two great games, winning 4-0 (at West Ham) and 3-0 (at home to Olympiacos)," replied Grant.
"We lost this game and we are not happy about this, but it has happened to all four big teams this year.
"Maybe this year the cup is not for the big teams, but we move on and look forward because we have two competitions to fight for.
"You could say, yes, that since I came to Chelsea this is my most disappointing day, but we have a good team and have look to the future."
That, of course, if Grant has a future because he appreciates the pressure on his shoulders will weigh even heavier than normal.
"At a club like Chelsea there is always pressure," insisted Grant.
"I feel it all the time, and there is pressure whether you win or lose."
At least Grant, like John Terry, was magnanimous in defeat, even if he did offer up the Oakwell pitch as a lame excuse for being unable to play the passing game his team are accustomed to.
"You could say it was a case of attitude, but it was not easy to play on this pitch," remarked Grant.
"We didn't play well, especially in the first half, but all credit to Barnsley.
"They beat Liverpool and they beat us, and I congratulate them."
