Ling: We need to play as a team

Sun 09 Mar, 04:00 PM

Leyton Orient manager Martin Ling admitted his side are struggling to create chances as they drew a blank in the defeat to Huddersfield. The Os' quest for a play-off place continued to falter against the Terriers, with a third successive 1-0 home loss seeing them slip to 11th.

Ling said: "It was frustrating. It wasn't good enough in terms of creating chances.

"Let's be fair, the best side on the day won the game. They had chances with three good headers from positions they will be disappointed they missed.

"We went to sleep at a throw-in on the goal and I told the players they are not doing well enough on the basics of the game. There were 11 individuals out there rather than a team.

"With no goals from the last three home matches, that probably sums up why we are starting to struggle. Jason Demetriou looked a bit lively in certain instances, but I can't think of any forward having a chance on goal and that can't be right."
