Darlington manager Dave Penney saw his side slump to their first defeat in four as Wycombe stole a march in the play-off hunt with a 2-0 win.Penney admitted the Quakers were well below par and pinpointed defender Steve Foster's mistake to let in Scott McGleish for his 20th goal of the season, after Leon Knight's overhead kick had put the home side in front.
"We weren't at the races from start to finish," Penney said. "They looked sharper, brighter and hungrier then we did.
"It was disappointing to concede the way we did - Steve Foster doesn't make many mistakes like that and that sums up our day.
"We certainly should have never let the lad in there for the first either - it was bad defending."
