Two goals from Matthieu Bodmer gave Lyon an early lead before Wendell pulled one back with a 34th-minute free-kick.

Karim Benzema restored the two-goal advantage five minutes after the break, although a Fernando Cavenaghi penalty made it 3-2 on the hour.

Abdulkader Keita grabbed a fourth goal at the end as Bordeaux failed to break OL down in the closing stages.

In Sunday's other game Marseille kept up their good form with a workmanlike 2-0 victory over St Etienne at the Stade Velodrome.

Second-half goals from substitute Mathieu Valbuena and Taye Taiwo were enough to extend OM's unbeaten run to eight league games.

Fourth-placed Marseille are now four points clear of Le Mans and just three behind Nancy, who occupy the last Champions League berth.

St Etienne, who had picked up seven points from their previous three league outings, are five points clear of the drop zone in 11th.
