Midfielder Simon Lappin is hoping that a successful loan spell at Motherwell will help him win his place back in the Norwich side. The 25-year-old joined the Canaries in January 2007 but after falling out of favour with manager Glenn Roeder he moved to Motherwell on loan until the end of the season.
Lappin scored the winner against Celtic at the weekend but insists that he has not given up hope of making it in the Championship.
"I worked hard to win a transfer to England but things didn't quite happen for me this season and I felt it would be best to come up here on loan and get some first-team football under my belt with Motherwell," He said.
"I knew before I returned to Scotland that Mark McGhee had the team playing well and had an attacking approach to his tactics. That was an important factor for me and hopefully I can do a good job while I'm up here.
"If I perform well and help Motherwell to be successful then it won't do my chances at Norwich any harm."
