Liam Dickinson's second-half spot-kick winner could prove priceless for promotion-chasing Stockport as it secured a 2-1 win against Mansfield.Meanwhile, The Stags' survival hopes suffered a potential hammer blow. The sides went in level at half-time after scoring an own goal apiece in the five minutes before the interval.
Mansfield went in front when Michael Boulding went to bundle home Matt Hamshaw's low cross from close range, only for the ball to ricochet off County midfielder Gary Dicker.
Stockport replied in the 44th minute when Stephen Gleeson's inswinging corner was punched into his own net by Stags goalkeeper Carl Muggleton.
Earlier Dicker saw a header saved by Muggleton, then Dickinson blasted well wide after racing clear. Mansfield responded with skipper Jake Buxton heading inches wide from a splendid Hamshaw cross.
Stockport went ahead after 73 minutes. Buxton felled Tommy Rowe inside the box and was promptly red-carded, then Dickinson coolly slotted home from the spot for his 18th goal of the season.
