Rochdale manager Keith Hill praised a trio of fringe players after they earned late call-ups to their 4-2 win over Notts County.Nathan D'Laryea, Marcus Holness and Joe Thompson were called into the side at the last minute after Nathan Stanton, Rory McArdle and Ben Muirhead were held up on the M62 and performed well in a win which maintains Dale's play-off push.
And Hill said: "The young lads did well and I fully expected them too because they are all ready.
"They are all part of the squad and I did say we would probably need everybody at some stage of the season and we will still need them. They did themselves and their team-mates justice.
"This young team wants to win games and they know how to win games. They are well versed on how to go about beating teams, and while we play with a shape, there is also a lot of creativity and high energy."
