Preston manager Alan Irvine has dismissed newspaper reports linking him with a summer move for Celtic striker Derek Riordan.The 25-year-old frontman has been linked with North End and Lancashire rivals Burnley, but Irvine has denied any interest.

He told the Lancashire Evening Post: "I have no idea where that story has come from because it isn't true.

"It said in one paper I was putting a package together for Riordan. I know absolutely nothing about that.

"It amazes me that this sort of stuff can be written when there is no truth in it."
