Jeff Mostyn has wished Marc Jackson's successful consortium "all the best" after losing out in his bid to buy League One club Bournemouth.Jackson, who withdrew from the consortium led by Mostyn last week, was declared the winning bidder by administrator Gerald Krasner on Tuesday although Krasner revealed Mostyn's rival offer had initially been preferred until it became "obvious that the bid could not be completed".
And while Mostyn, who became Cherries chairman in 2007, admitted his "sadness" at the outcome, he insists he has no hard feelings towards Jackson.
He told the club's official website: "It is with much sadness that our offer to take AFC Bournemouth forward failed at the final hurdle. However, the most important thing is that the football club has survived to fight another day.
"I am proud that having provided the substantial amount of funding required by the administrator to keep the club alive it has resulted in the sale and a future for this great football club.
"Despite suffering huge disappointment, we sincerely wish the Jackson consortium all the best in their attempt to bring stability and ultimately success to the club."
