Darlington manager Dave Penney has bemoaned the fact that he is unable to bring in any players to bolster his injury-ravaged squad this season. After Julian Joachim sustained an ankle problem in Saturday's defeat against Stockport, Penney is now without five of his first choice strikers.
The recent spate of injuries has left Penney frustrated that the closure of the transfer window means there is little he can do ahead of Saturday's home clash with Hereford.
"It's scary the number of injuries we've had, and they're all to key players," said Penney.
"I'm limited in what I can do. I would've been in the loan market a long time ago if it was possible.
"When the window closed on making loans we had a strong squad, or certainly enough to give us options."
