Southampton midfielder Andrew Surman has admitted that he is ready to stay out of position at left-back to help Saints beat the drop. The England Under-21 star reverted to an unfamiliar role at full-back after replacing Gregory Vignal during the Saints' 2-0 win against Bristol City at the weekend.
Surman told the Southern Daily Echo: "It was a weird experience because I've never played at left-back before for the club and only used to fill in there occasionally when I was 12.
"But I enjoyed it and would love to continue there if needed. I'm happy to play anywhere if it means being in the team."
