Team news ahead of promotion-chasing Watford's Championship match with relegation-battling Barnsley on Wednesday night

FOOTBALL Aidy Boothroyd - 0

Boss Aidy Boothroyd (pictured) faces a selection headache as Watford look to keep their resurgent promotion hopes alive at Vicarage Road.

Boothroyd has Darius Henderson in contention following the completion of his two-game ban as well as having Tamas Priskin available after the Hungarian returned from a four-week loan spell at Preston.

The Hornets boss will have to decide which of Henderson, Priskin, Nathan Ellington, Collins John and Steve Kabba will lead the line against the Tykes as they look to build on the 2-1 win against Coventry - their first victory after drawing eight consecutive games.

John Eustace serves the last of a four-game ban and will miss out while Gareth Williams is still sidelined with a cruciate knee ligament injury.

Watford lie just a point away from an automatic promotion spot and could go top with a win over Simon Davey's side.

Barnsley duo Brian Howard and Martin Devaney have been ruled out of the match in the North London suburbs.

Tykes skipper Howard had five stitches in a gashed ankle at half-time during the FA Cup semi-final defeat by Cardiff and will miss the trip, so Sam Togwell could start.

Winger Devaney sustained a thigh injury at Wembley and was replaced in the 68th minute by Diego Leon, who could return to the starting line-up.

Defender Lewin Nyatanga and striker Jon Macken were both cup-tied on Sunday and are expected to return to the side.

Barnsley dropped into the bottom three over the weekend and have six games left to rescue their season.
