Fiorentina coach Cesare Prandelli is facing a selection dilemma ahead of the Viola's UEFA Cup quarter-final against PSV Eindhoven.

Following last week's 1-1 draw in the first leg, Fiorentina have to score to stand a chance of progressing into the semi-finals and Prandelli's choice of strikers will be crucial to their success in the return fixture in Eindhoven.

Adrian Mutu - who opened the scoring in Florence - is an automatic choice for Prandelli, but the decision of who to partner the Romanian is less clear cut.

23-year-old Giampaolo Pazzini (pictured with Mutu) has netted nine times this season in Serie A - no mean feat, considering he is not a penalty taker and all his goals have come from open play - to lay a strong claim for a starting berth.

But veteran striker Christian Vieri - with three goals to his name in European competition so far this season - is also vying for a place alongside Mutu in Thursday's game at Philips Stadion.

At the back, Prandelli received some good news when Tomas Ujfalusi and Alessandro Gamberini were both declared fit for the trip to Holland and the pair are both expected to feature.

Champions League drop-outs PSV are sure to present a tough proposition for Fiorentina, although the Dutch outfit will have to make do without suspended striker Jefferson Farfan and injured midfielder Ibrahim Afellay.

Prandelli said: "It's going to be a very difficult game. But these are the challenges that we need to overcome.

"I am convinced that if we go with the right mentality we can do well."

PSV boss Sef Vergoossen has vowed not to sit on their slight advantage and put in a defensive display, insisting his side will attack from the outset.

A goalless draw will be good enough to see the Eredivisie side through to the semis, but Vergoossen knows the opposition are too strong to sit back for 90 minutes.

"Fiorentina are a team which play with the same tactics at home and away - always with the intention of attacking," he said.

"For us it is a case of total concentration during 90 minutes or even more if we go into extra time.

"We are not going to defend. That is too dangerous against an attacking team like Fiorentina."
