Grimsby defender Nick Fenton says he was "hurt" to be placed on the transfer list by Alan Buckley despite having a year left on his contract.The 28-year-old was told he could leave Blundell Park along with midfielder Ciaran Toner.

Fenton believes he still has a lot to offer the Mariners, but is now unsure where his future lies.

"I was hugely disappointed to be told I could look for another club - I honestly didn't see it coming at all," he told the Grimsby Telegraph.

"I know we haven't ended the season well but I personally felt I had done okay this season on the whole. I made 50 starts so I must have been doing something right."
