Ian McParland says he is delighted veteran defender Michael Johnson has agreed to join Notts County on a year-long deal.The 34-year-old had been on-loan from Derby and has decided to rejoin the Magpies on a full-time contract.

McParland told the club's official website: "Michael Johnson signing up is obviously a huge thing for us, and a massive bonus at that. We've done well to get him.

"We have a budget to stick to and I am delighted Michael wanted to come here towards the end of his career and help Notts County."

He continued: "He is a good lad in the dressing room and he will do very well for us - that I have no doubt."
