Huddesfield defender Joe Skarz is relishing starting the new League One season after signing a new contract to remain at the Galpharm Stadium. The 18-year-old on Wednesday put pen to paper on a new three-year deal which will see him stay until 2011.
Now he has secured his future, Skarz admits that he cannot wait for the next campaign to begin.
"The original offer was made a few weeks ago but with the new manager coming in obviously it stalled things a little. However, I'm really pleased to have it sorted now," he told the club's official website.
"I'm delighted to have my future secured for the next three years and my focus is to continue to develop as a player within that time.
"I'm going to recharge my batteries for a few weeks, but I'm already thinking about next season. Hopefully I'll be ready to help us gain promotion when August comes around."
