England wicketkeeper Tim Ambrose did not take the field for Warwickshire at Derby due to a stiff neck.
Although the niggle is considered to be minor, no risks were taken with less than a week before the first npower Test against New Zealand at Lord's.
Ambrose received massage treatment to the problem area while deputy gloveman Richard Johnson took his place for Derbyshire's second innings.
