2pts win We'll Come in Ascot 2.20 at 6/1 (general). Looks type to improve and win a decent race this season.

Curtain Call's win last time at Nottingham has earned him second position in the ante-post betting for the Derby at Epsom, which is pretty cloudy at the moment as nothing has emerged as a striking Epsom contender.

He has got to concede five pounds to his rivals in the Lingfield Derby Trial but he was a very easy winner on his reappearance against two inferior rivals.

His form last year in Ireland for Jessica Harrington promised much for his three year old career and he looks to have plenty going for him.

Campanologist beat Kandahar Run in the Feilden Stakes at Newmarket and the latter has since come out and won a small race over Guineas weekend.

You got the impression that it was a fair event between two uesful colts as they drew clear and Campanologist has since been transferred to Godolphin.

The latter's runners have not really shone so far but most of the ground work will have been done by Mark Johnston so that need not be an issue.

Alessandro Volta and King Of Rome both ran respectably in the Ballysax Stakes and both are likely to come on for that outing.

Their trainer Aidan O'Brien won the 2000 Guineas last weekend and also had a winner at Chester so he is clearly running into a bit of form.

Alessandro Volto looks the stable first string on jockey bookings with Johnny Murtagh in the saddle but King Of Rome, who could be used as a pacemaker, is a fair horse in his own right.

By Command is tough to assess as his trainer John Dunlop was playing down his Classic credentials after his win at Windsor in a maiden last month.

But he did do it impressively and the form has been given a boost with the runner-up winning since.

Alan Devonshire was a consistent performer last season but you would have thought that he would need to improve.

It is Victoria Cup day over at Ascot and I took a shine to a horse called We'll Come last season, who makes his comeback in the race.

You just get the feeling that he is going to be even better this year as he has a big frame and needs to strengthen up.

His form is very good, remains lightly raced and is capable of winning a decent handicap - he could well do it first time out.
