Warriors May Face Ground Search

Fri 09 May, 03:09 PM

Wigan will have to find an alternative venue to the JJB Stadium if they win through to the quarter-finals of the Carnegie Challenge Cup and land a home tie.

The ground, which they share with Wigan Athletic, will be out of use for six weeks while essential repair work is carried out on the badly-worn pitch.

The Warriors, who are at home to Whitehaven in the fourth round of the Cup on Monday night, will be able to play their Super League match against Warrington at the JJB Stadium next Friday.

But the ground will be out of commission for the next round of the Cup on the weekend of May 31 and they have postponed their next scheduled home game against Huddersfield on June 6

The work is expected to be complete in time for Wigan's home fixture with Harlequins on June 27.
