Biarritz will look to boost their Top 14 semi-final chances when they invite league leaders Clermont to the Stade Aguilera on Friday evening.
Watch Biarritz v Clermont LIVE on British Eurosport 2 from 20:00 BST.
Biarritz's season is in danger of collapsing after consecutive losses and they will have their work cut out against a Clermont side that have won 10 of their last 11 league matches.
But Biarritz, currently in fifth, will take confidence from their opponent's surprise 35-28 defeat at home to Castres last week in a bid to close the gap on fourth-placed Perpignan, who hold an eight-point lead on the Atlantic Coast side.
Biarritz's will also be determined to make amends for last week's 16-3 loss at Perpignan.
Clermont are without their wing Julien Malzieu, while Biarritz are waiting on a late fitness test for their veteran flanker Serge Betsen.
Scrum-half Dimitri Yachvili (pictured) is available after the birth of his second child earlier this week and he is joined in the Biarritz starting XV by France team-mate and centre Damien Traille.
Any slip up by Clermont will allow Toulouse to recapture top spot if they can secure a win at Montpellier on Sunday evening.
The French giants trail Clermont by just two points and will be full of confidence after securing four points on the road at Castres midweek.
But they will be without their inspirational skipper and lock Fabien Pelous, while eight-placed Montpellier welcome back France loose forward Fulgence Ouedraogo as they look to snap a run of three consecutive losses.
Defending champions Stade Francais have bounced back from their mid-season dip in form and should secure their seventh win on the trot against struggling Albi.
Stade, 10 points adrift of Toulouse in third spot, have Lionel Beauxis back at fly-half, which sees Puma Juan-Martin Hernandez move to full-back.
Albi welcome back international lock Arnaud Mela as they look to build on last week's 21-18 victory over Brive and make it three wins from their last four outings.
Perpignan will expect to continue their impressive form when they travel to mid-table Montauban and will be choosing from a near full-strength squad.
The Catalan side have won nine of their last 10 games and drawn the other to move into fourth spot, just four points adrift of Stade.
Montauban, on the other hand have won just two of their last six and are likely to struggle against Perpignan's uncompromising pack.
Sixth-placed Castres will look to maintain their push for Heineken Cup qualification when they entertain Brive on Sunday , while Bayonne will hope to make it two wins on the bounce when they travel to basement club Auch.
The remaining game of the weekend sees second-from-bottom Dax travel to Bourgoin.
