Charlton have announced they have a made a number of redundancies at the club in a bid to cut costs as they prepare for life in League One.
The Addicks revealed last month that there could be up to 25 members of staff that could face the axe, but the actual number is believed to be significantly less as the club tries to come to terms with the affects of relegation from the Championship and the loss of Premier League parachute payments.
"It's been a very difficult month behind the scenes, with a lot of unpleasant decisions having to be made," chief executive Steve Waggott told the club website.
"However, despite the current situation, I would like to put on record my appreciation for the hard work and efforts on behalf of the club by those staff affected, many of whom have contributed to the success of the club over many years.
"The cruellest part of the entire process is the impact on staff of elements largely beyond their control, but the board must concentrate on what it considers to be the club's core activities."
