Walsall chairman Jeff Bonser has revealed the search for manager Jimmy Mullen's assistant will be concluded by July 2 at the latest.The Saddlers appointed Mullen as Richard Money's replacement last month and Bonser, who is in currently talks with "three or four" possible candidates, insists he will name Mullen's number two before the squad report back for pre-season training.

"He will be in place by July 2, without a shadow of a doubt. It's got to be someone that we are comfortable with and Jimmy is comfortable with, because Jimmy has to work with him every day," he told the Express and Star

"It will be a proven first-team coach. We are talking to three or four people at the moment."
