Steve Sidwell reportedly wants a £3million golden handshake from Chelsea before he moves to a new Premier League club this summer.Manchester City and Aston Villa have emerged as the leading contenders for the 25-year-old's signature - but they are not alone in admiring him, with Middlesbrough, Sunderland, Newcastle, West Ham, Fulham, Everton and Blackburn also believed to be keen.
Sidwell, however, still has three years left on his £50,000-a-week contract at Stamford Bridge, and wants a tidy pay-off despite having only made seven league appearances since joining the Blues on a free from Reading in May last year.
His agent Eric Walters said: "His situation is he's under contract to Chelsea for another three years and Steven is happy to fight for his place."

what a waste of space and money sidwell is
If Chelsea pay him off then it is obscene, they should give the %3 million to Charity rather than him. If he is a really keen professional footballer, after only seven appearances, he would want to go for nothing one would think. Sounds as if he is greedy, leave him Boro.
i think this is a classic of the way cheslea throws money
Lol i agree why did Chelsea buy him, he aint a great player in my opinion. I hope he dont go to West Ham i wouldnt want him there.
This shows how Chelsea throws money arround, 50k/wk for 7 appearances in the league tell me who would not want to stay forever. they bougth a striker for 30m whom has scored less than 10 goals in 2 season, bougth another striker for 18m who has score just 3 goals, Only God knows what tal Haim is getting for sitting on the bench (60k/wk?), paid 20m for a sacked coach known for dispute and sent off a coach that restore some pride in them. For GOD sake when is the auditor coming to Audit their account. This wasteful policy is also showing in their style of play WASTEFUL

why did chelsea even buy him in the first place
they should just ge rid of him
they got him 4 nothing so they might aswell just pay up.
Why not too if Chelsea try to buy up talent without due thought then they have to meet the obligations of the contracts they dish out.
