Subaru's Petter Solberg is feeling keyed up ahead of the next event in the WRC - the Rally of Turkey.
Subaru team leader Petter Solberg is feeling 'very excited' ahead of the Rally of Turkey this coming weekend, what will be only his second competitive outing with the all-new Impreza WRC2008.
Petter took a fantastic second place finish in Greece two weeks ago, his first podium of the season and now is keen to try and push a little more with the new car and once again get a good result.
'Hollywood' has done well in Turkey in the past and while an off in the penultimate test on day two cost him second in 2006 - the last time the event was apart of the World Rally Championship - he was on the podium in 2004 and 2005.
"I'm looking forward to going back to Turkey as the stages have suited us well in the past," he noted. "We were fast there in the old car, and we've shown what the new car can do in Greece, so I'm very excited to see what we can do again, to keep pushing and for the results to start coming.
"I have a good feeling with the new car, so if we can get the whole package working with the roads there, it could be very good. There's more to come from the car, so I'll drive my best with no mistakes and see if we can be a little bit quicker than in Greece."
Subaru World Rally team boss David Richards meanwhile has warned that the event could be just as tough as the Acropolis - even if it is regarded as being ever so slightly less arduous.
Nevertheless though, he is confident that the experience gained in Greece will stand them in good stead. Indeed since round seven in the WRC, Subaru's engineers and technicians have been working tirelessly during the short two-week gap to try and eek out more performance.
"We shouldn't underestimate the challenges that Turkey will bring for our new car and I fully anticipate that it will be equally as tough a test as Acropolis," he added.
"Both Petter and Chris [Atkinson] have however demonstrated what this new car is capable of, so we are confident of another step forward in the learning process. Our main aim is to continue development of the car on events where progress tends to be far swifter but also far more public!"
